Are you looking to lose a few pounds before the holiday season? You don’t need a weight loss pill or personal trainer to shed pounds.

According to a recent article published by the Chicago SunTimes, those who eat slower, eat less, and therefore weight less. By making one simple change to the way you eat, you could drop a few inches.

Here’s what you need to do, “try taking your time when you eat, really savoring and enjoying your food, instead of racing through your meals and snack,” suggests the Chicago Sun.

“People who eat slowly tend to consume fewer calories and weight less than those who eat quickly, research shows,” (Chicago Sun Times).

It is believed that slower eating allows you to feel full before you’ve consumed too much food.

To try to slow down your eating rate, the Chicago Sun Times suggests selecting high-fiber foods that take more time to chew, such as apples, pears, carrots, broccoli and air-popped popcorn.

So, make this little change to your eating habits and lets the results speak for themselves.

The Serenity of Second Chances - Amy Wiener, Patient

Nine years ago Amy Wiener was rendered unconscious and close to death in a serious car accident.  But her bad luck had a silver lining, in that her near-fatal mishap occurred across the street from NuHealth, where doctors reacted quickly to save her life.  Amy remained in the hospital for a month, and took the better part of a year to get back on her feet.  Now pain-free for four years, she teaches third grade—and looks forward with anticipation to her coming marriage.

“I owe my life to the doctors at NuHealth.  I owe everyone there everything.  Every single person there is unbelievable.”

A Numbing Experience- Richard Visconti, Stroke Patient

Richard Visconti was working in New York City when suddenly his leg went numb.  When soon after he had trouble getting his arm to function properly, he knew something was wrong and immediately drove home.  His wife called an ambulance that rushed him to NuHealth, where physicians nipped his stroke in the bud and got him started on the road to what should be virtually a full recovery.

“The doctors, nurses and staff at NuHealth were wonderful…even the cleaning people were kind and courteous.  The care I received went well beyond my expectations.”
